Innertube float trips are offered April through the end of September. During the peak summer months (June through August), trips are available for any day of the week.
Float trips are a relaxing and popular way to enjoy a river. We depart from your selected location, and the float trips can last from 2 to 6 hours, depending on your interests. The cost is $50 - $60 per person (depending on destination) and includes:
Of course, you may bring your own beverages, in non-glass containers, to enjoy on the river. Each person should bring a towel, sunscreen, shoes to wear in the river, and a change of dry clothes. Please do not bring important personal items that could be lost or stolen. If you enjoy your trip, tips are appreciated.
Remember, float conditions can change on short notice due to weather. For the most up-to-date information on float conditions, or to place a reservation, call us at (512)96-FLOAT (963-5628) You can also email us.
Here is a list of our innertube float trip destinations and their cost:
The San Marcos River is a unique floating experience thorough the City of San Marcos. Because of the springs that feed it, the water has a fairly constant flow rate, and is always about 70 degrees—clear and invigorating! Many people are surprised at the beauty of this float; despite passing through a city environment, it is verdant and peaceful.
Your float trip begins just below the dam for Spring Lake. The first stretch briskly takes you past the Texas State University Campus. Soon, the river slows to a leisurely pace as you float through San Marcos' municipal park. Eventually, you reach a moderate sized dam with a "tube chute," which provides an exciting end to your float trip. You exit downriver from the tube chute at a small park with picnic tables.
The optimal flow rate for floating is about 100 to 300 cubic feet per second. See the current flow rate here.

This section of the Guadalupe River is a very popular reach of the river for floating. The water is discharged from Canyon Dam, and is clear and quite brisk (although it warms as it travels downstream). Because of Canyon Dam, the flow rate is usually fairly constant throughout the floating season. This is a very popular floating destination.
The optimal flow rate for floating is about 150 to 500 cubic feet per second, with a wide range of floating experiences between these values. See the current flow rate here.
